• Baby Poop Is Loaded With Microplastics (Wired) — this piece may irritate you badly. Essentially, it’s not enough just to avoid plastic feeding bottles, the microplastics can also come through fabrics, in the form of dust. So vacuuming and air filtration will also become a standard requirement.
• Environmental Law Is Getting in the Way of Climate Action (Wired) — our world is not only heating up, it’s also burning up… and it take everyone’s effort to save the future: from having the proper legal structure to prioritize prosecuting the heavy offenders, to designing proper control burns, to ensuring people nearby the dry foliages fully aware of the risks of their actions…
• Oregon Is Burning Trees in Order to Save Them (Wired) — now, the burning in this piece is not the same ‘controlled burns’ mentioned above. This is a rescue mission: burn some trees in order to avoid a pathogen causing diseases affecting/destroying a whole lot more trees
• The Controversial Quest to Make Cow Burps Less Noxious (Wired) — so cows actually burp methane gas, which is the 2nd worst greenhouse gas, 1st being carbon dioxide, although 80 times more potent than carbon dioxide. I wonder if there’s a way to edit their genes so they can reverse the effect: inhaling methane gas and burping oxygen, maybe? 😀
• As SpaceX’s Starlink Ramps Up, So Could Light Pollution (Wired) — we are living into a new generation of ‘space wars’, starting with satellites 🙂
